Story

As you are aware most of our care ministry is directed domestically. We are excited to offer you an international care mission with today’s Need Alert.

One of our local church partners work with an indigenous ministry in India that holistically ministers to the physical and spiritual needs of the marginalized in Indian society. It is an organization with a range of projects focused on seeking justice for those that society rejects or takes advantage of because they are caught in the debilitating nexus of poverty, hunger, commercial sex work, lack of education, and HIV and other infectious diseases.  These are some of the poorest people one could ever imagine.  The ministries provide hope through education, training and empowerment of women, providing shelter so the homeless and sick can live with dignity, all while sharing the gospel.

A team from our partner church is travelling to India in mid-February to do mission work and will be visiting it’s sister village in a very remote area in the forest.  This is a village of approximately 100 tribal families that live in significant poverty, mostly in one room thatched huts with dirt floors. Although they make their livelihood by laboring in the fields and cutting trees for firewood, there is no guarantee that their meager earnings can provide for their families.  Our partner church provides ongoing funding to support families in this village.

The opportunity has risen to provide a meal during the team’s visit to feed all of the villagers during a village celebration. We invite you to participate with them in feeding the entire village.
