Need 21.34 – Wheelchair Ramp For Disabled Mother
We alert you today to a 50-year-old single woman caring for her disabled mother (72) who needs a wheelchair ramp. The need is straightforward, but let me give you a little back story about what this woman has been through in the past few years. Her husband suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2017, which meant that she became his primary caregiver while also caring for her aging mother. Late last year, her husband filed for divorce after 34 years of marriage. In April of this year, she and her mother were forced to move out of their home and into a new mobile home.
The wheelchair ramp is necessary for her mother who fell and broke her right hip in early 2020, and then fell again last month, breaking her left hip. To further complicate things, the daughter is dealing with a case of Bell’s Palsy. To continue caring for her mother, she needs a wheelchair ramp for access to their mobile home. The labor is being donated, but the cost of materials is $3,800. They do not have the funds to cover this expense. We want to supply the materials for the ramp.
