Need 23.101 – Single Mother Working Through Major Car Repair

We alert you today to a single mother working to recover from a significant car repair. Last month, her car broke down on the side of the freeway. She had the car towed to a mechanic, and she was told the entire engine needed to be replaced. She spent the money to tow the car again to get a second opinion. The second mechanic told her the engine was okay, but the timing belt and a few other repairs were needed to get the car running again. He repaired the car within a few weeks for $1,500. When her car was in the shop, she was forced to rent a car to keep working at a cost of approximately $400. She is a hard-working and determined mother who has kept fighting this challenging situation. However, she now faces eviction because she could not pay her November rent. She needs $1,800 to get her rent current and stabilize housing for her and her daughter. We want to help her with her November rent and are confident that she can sustain herself in the future.
