Need 23.82 – Daughter Loses Mother After Battle With Cancer

We alert you today to a daughter who recently lost her mother after caring for her through a battle with cancer. Her mother was diagnosed with tongue cancer on February 13th and had her tongue removed on March 28. The daughter resigned from her school bus driving position on April 10th to care for her mom, who rang her end-of-treatment bell on June 26th. The daughter found a new job with the school system, allowing her to stay with her mom while working full-time. Unfortunately, at a follow-up appointment on August 9th, doctors instructed her mom to go directly to the hospital. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung, bone, and colon cancer and told that she had less than six months to live.

On August 24th, her mom was released from the hospital for home hospice care and passed away on August 31st. The last seven months of upheaval have added a financial strain on the family, resulting in successive late rent payments and extra fees. On top of that, the daughter and her husband missed several days of work for bereavement without pay. We want to help their family get back on track while emerging from this season of grief by assisting them with their October rent payment of $2,000.
