We are alerting you today to a 34-year-old single mother of four children (ages 15, 14, 11, and 8). On May 29th, her 8-year-old son passed away after a 3-year cancer battle. The last day she worked was on May 25th to be with him at the hospital as he was declining. She is out on unpaid FMLA leave because she has been on the job for only about 8 months and is not eligible for paid leave. She is planning to return to work soon, knowing she cannot afford to miss too many more days. She needs help to pay her June rent. She has $1,000 of the $2,350 total rent. She hasn’t had a funeral or anything for him, stating she doesn’t know what to do. We want to help her with the $1,000 she is short on her rent, and an additional $1,200 towards her son’s final expenses.
