Need 26.51 – Single Mother Forced Into Job Transition
We are working today to help a single mother who was forced into a job transition. She has spent the past 6 years working for a nonprofit Christian counseling service. In June, the organization lost its funding, and she abruptly lost her job. She did all the right things, working odd jobs and doing part-time work while looking for a new full-time position. She was able to secure a full-time position within a month and is back working full-time this week. Adding to the financial pressure, she has one child who still depends on her and is a senior in college at Columbia. She is concerned she will not be able to afford the travel expenses to get her back to school in just a few weeks. She needs help with her car payment ($433) and her rent ($1,734), and we would also like to help with some of the travel expenses to get her daughter back to school ($350). With this support, we are confident she will be self-sufficient going forward.
